Privacy Policy

Our commitment

Your personal information is important. We take great care with it and do so in line with Australian Government laws.

When, how and why information is collected

Most of our website can be viewed without submitting personally identifiable information.

You can voluntarily provide personal information to us if you:

  • have an enquiry
  • book a course
  • provide feedback on a course
  • participate in our promotional activities
  • want to receive updates from us (usually about courses and tips on media.)

You can do so via:

  • phone
  • email
  • face to face
  • hard copy form
  • contact form on this website
  • signing up to our email list
  • online course booking.

For online booking we mostly use the Eventbrite platform. Eventbrite collects personal information on their website. We pick up essential info from our account on Eventbrite to understand who’s coming to courses. It includes your name, email and the course you want to do. You can voluntarily provide other info – like where you work, your job title and your level of media experience. If you use Eventbrite your use of their platform is voluntary and you’ll be bound by the Eventbrite privacy policy.

We also collect general information about this website using ‘Google Analytics’. The kind of information we collect includes: pages viewed, the number of views and visitors, referring websites and search terms used. We view this information in aggregate. It helps us track and improve our services.

What kind of voluntary information we collect

If you wish to receive updates from us or participate in our promotional activities, we usually only need your name and email address.

For enquiries we usually take: your name, phone number and/or email address.

For bookings we require your name, email address and most often credit card detail and address. (We can accept payment by direct bank transfer rather than credit card – in which case we’ll advise you of our bank details. We’ll also need your business name in this case in order to send you a Tax Invoice.)

Other information you provide to us is optional in each case. It usually includes no more than your phone number, business name, industry, job title, city and courses you’re interested in.

If you book a course, we ask a little about your level of competence and what you want to learn, but again this is optional. This information helps us with our teaching and developing our services.

Once you’ve done a course it’s up to you whether you provide feedback and whether we may use favourable feedback as a testimonial. Feedback helps us gauge what’s working and what needs improving in our courses.

Our care of your information

We will keep your personal information private (and that especially means your email address and phone number.)

The only time we would share your info with a third party is if:

  • you consent to it
  • we’re required by law
  • it’s with related entities of Media School’s holding company Creative Nature Pty Ltd
  • it’s with companies helping us deliver our service to you.

We occasionally work with other companies to help us provide our services. Those companies will only be permitted to obtain the information they need to deliver their part of the service. For example, we may provide your name to caterers preparing special food or your credit card to the financial institution processing our transactions. It’s always our aim to work with reputable suppliers and partners. (Ones who will protect that information.)

Media School may occasionally email you with updates about our services or tips on using the media. Creative Nature Pty Ltd may also let you know about services from Media School’s sister businesses. You can unsubscribe from emails from us at any time.

We may share information about our website user habits in aggregate. This is often for teaching purposes.

Media School undertakes to take all commercially reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is stored securely.

Accessing, changing or deleting your personal information

On request we can: advise you what personal information we hold about you and/or change or delete that information. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons.

If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time. Either click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of our email or send us an email with the request.
